UK Ex-convict Bags Jail Term in Lagos: Nitizens React


 The Lagos Command of the EFCC, on July 1, 2022, secured the conviction and sentencing before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos of one Ahmed Soetan Adebola, a United Kingdom ex-convict for credit card fraud to one year imprisonment. 


The EFCC had on June 3, 2022, arraigned the convict on a one-count amended charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence contrary to Section 312 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.


The charge reads thus: "Ahmed Soetan Adebola sometime between the 23rd day of October 2020 and 4th November 2020 in Lagos within the Ikeja Judicial Division with intent to defraud, checked into RADISSON BLU Anchorage Hotel for the sum of N4,449,633.12 with the understanding that your payment will be made using an American Express card with pretence you knew was false."


He pleaded "guilty" to the charge.

Bishop Elvis Ibekwem accused of assaulting his wife in rivers state.

Lagos Father Smashes baby’s skull!

It was a black day as one Benedict Anieze smashed his one month old baby at his house in the pipeline area of Idimu, Lagos State. He was at home with his family on Sunday, April 3, when he suddenly picked up his baby and forcefully smashed her head on the ground. Late Osinachi’s Husband Arrested

Last week was an emotional one as Nigerians reacted over the death of late singer Osinachi who people have described as a wonderful woman. It was brought to the notice of the general public that her husband abused her on several occasions, calling her names and slapping her. A colleague of hers Frank Edwards  took to his page to err his pain thereby stating that the matter will not be left just like that. The Nigerian Police on the other hand have done the needful as the law demands by arresting her husband. On the arrest, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, said, “He is now in our custody. The younger brother of the deceased reported the matter and we have commenced investigation.” Osinachi, 42, died on Friday after spending days at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja. Her colleagues, via social media had accused her husband of beating her. In a live Instagram video, a popular singer, Frank Edwards, alleged that Osinachi’s husband abused her on several occasions....
