Present Situation if Abuja-Kaduna Train Accident (Video)

On Monday 28th March, 2022, several passengers boarded a 6pm train from Abuja to Kaduna and were attacked by bandits 30 minutes before entry into Kaduna. 

The Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said eight corpses were recovered, 26 people were injured but were receiving treatment. He went futher to say, that according to the record obtained from the Nigerian Railway Corporation, 362 persons boarded the train.



According to a report submitted to the Kaduna State Government by the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), "a detailed passenger manifest for the Abuja-Kaduna train service AK9 which was attacked by terrorists on Monday showed that 398 passengers bought tickets for the trip, but 362 were validated as having boarded the train through the recognized turnstile. The said passenger manifest does not include NRC staff and security officials who were on".

"Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the status of the passengers who were on board the train and who have been unaccounted for at the time of this update. Search operations are also being sustained.”

The Vice president of the federation paid a visit to the victims alongside the Governor of the state. Most of the victims were said to be responding to treatment.
